I had the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely ladies of Girl Magic Meets at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem for a trip through their current Playtime exhibit. This is an interactive art install at the museum that includes a wall full of spinning pillars of fringe, a pink room full to the brim with pink balloons, a shadow room and even some spots where you can be the art! I had such a blast checking out this exhibit with all these wonderful girls and taking photos along the way. Big thanks to the PEM for having us and letting us enjoy the Playtime Exhibit as a group!
Between the colors and interactive aspects of the Playtime exhibit, the experience was like no other. From shadow hand puppet films, to the armory instruments that played themselves, I highly recommend checking out this exhibit if you get the chance before it leaves the museum. Bring a friend and try out the challenge platforms that provide you with instructions and some props to help you execute them to create your own human medium art! Get nostalgic with some of their other art on display on the Playtime room. Don’t forget to hop in line for the balloon room, it’s a great experience, but they only let a few people through at a time to avoid any popping or escaping of the balloons that they have to replenish throughout the day to keep the room filled adequately.
Here are some of my shots from the trip, check them out and let me know what you think in the comments below!
